What is the CIS Doping Control Program? They coordinate an unannounced "no-notice" and "short notice" diping control program as well as announced testings. Eligibility: 1 in 25 CIS student-athletes are tested each year To see what is permitted and what is banned, go to www.cces.ca or directly at substanceinquiries@cces.ca, or 1-800-672-7775. Be carefull when selecting a decongestant, antihistamine or cough product as many over-the-counter medications contain banned substances such as ephedrine and pseudoephedrine. Some of these products contain "natural" or botanical sources of banned or restricted substances without listing the banned substance (for instance. "ma huang" is an herbal equivalent to the banned drug ephedrine, as is "Sida Cordifolia" Athletes who have committed an Anti-Doping Rule Violation with a two year sport ineligibility penalty shall be subject to unannounced testing for the duration of the penalty, regardless of their membership status with any Sport Governing Body or Sport Organization. Athlete Selection: Each athlete on a university team shall be required to sign the Canadian Interuniversity Sport Athlete Acknowledgement Form which shall act as a consent form.
